Welcome to the Civil War Unit! This unit will help you understand the causes, effects, major people, major battles, weapons, and typical soldiers involved in the Civil War. Everything from this unit is due on October 19th . I will not accept any late work. Good luck!!
Create a Civil War Timeline with all of the major events of the war. This may be done on a large plain white sheet of paper or at readwritethink.org. This should include at least 8 details.
Analyze the map of Civil War battles and answer the questions.

Design a Cause and Effect Chart of the Civil War. What caused the war? What were the after effects of the war?
Critique whether or not the Civil War was unavoidable. Write 150 words (minimum) describing/proving why/how the War could have been avoided or whether it was inevitable. Prove your point with facts!
Create a pamphlet about the weapons used in the Civil War. This must include and describe at least 4 major weapons.
Interpret the graph of deaths in the Civil War and answer the corresponding questions.

Create a Power Point (or similar) presentation about 4 (minimum) leaders of the Civil War.
Choose 1 of the following and do a GREAT job:
1. Write a 250 word raft from the perspective of a Civil War soldier.
2. Create a Power Point/Electronic Assignment of one of the battles of the Civil War. This should include all of the tactics, major leaders of the battle, casualties, importance, etc.
3. Write a 2 page research paper discussing one aspect of the Civil War. You must use at least 2 direct quotes/facts and cite them correctly.
4. Create a piece of artwork from the Civil War.
5. Do a video discussing the importance of the North winning the Civil War and the effects. One possible topic discussed could be race relations today.
